Slashdot reports that the founder of open source Web encyclopedia Wikipedia is now setting his sights on the magazine realm with the creation of Wikia. Like Wikipedia, Wikia is an online open source magazine-style wiki wherein users can create new and edit existing content.

c|net is reporting that YouTube, the Internet’s latest home for all things video, has closed blog powerhouse Gawker Media’s account for possible copyright violations after receiving complaints from copyright holders. Gawker’s Lockhart Steele countered, stating that said holders never requested or notified them to take down said content.
